All hard cover and most soft cover books were sold. Those books, now autographed, are still available at Barnes and Noble for those unable to attend. I am in deep gratitude to Barnes and Noble and Cheryl Schneider for giving me the opportunity to hold my debut book signing here at the Fredericksburg store. She spent many hours with me planning this event and promoting my book. I thank the 8th Virginia Regiment Volunteer Infantry, Frances Robinson Allshouse the Layered Lady, and The Civil War Dance Ensemble of Spottsylvania, for their part in making the day a learning experience for our guests. I thank my friends from Salem Elementary School, from the area and surrounding counties who attended. Many were superior publicists as quite a few books were sold based on their rave reviews and the question, “When is the next one coming out?” Another thank you goes to Author Chris Mackowski who shared the day with me. He assisted in my promotion and when we were able we talked history and he offered some professional advice. My family has been great supporters throughout this decade’s long project. My husband who heard “please turn the TV down, I can’t concentrate,” remained with me the entire day. My sister and niece surprised me, and my son and several of his friends supported me as well. I thank my photographer friend Brittany Clark Adams of Photography by Britt, my roving photographer as she traveled some distance to do so. When I receive the photos I will post them on my Author-FB page. From now on, anything pertaining to the book will be posted there and on my website. So check in every so often to see the latest news and events, and perhaps a sneak peak of the sequel might appear. |
